Step I. Leading-in.
Set the background to the Ss. Help a girl, Daisy, who studied some knowledge on electricity in a physics lesson. Then to ask Ss to get to know some new key words and phrases when helping her.
Step II. lead in the questions about different ways of producing electricity and finish the Part A on Page 72 (by asking what other power can produce electricity).
Step III. Set the background: When Daisy went home from his lesson, her naughty brother Benny left her a problem to solve. Then let Ss read the text to help her. Let Ss read the passage and answer some questions.
First reading:
What’s the girl going to buy for her brother?
What does electricity give us?
How does electricity come into our flat?
What in batteries can produce electricity?
Who looks foolish, Daisy or Benny?
Step IV. Second reading
Ask Ss to finish D2. Then let Ss discuss and tell us how electricity enter our flat from a power station. (Remind them to use linking words)
Step V. Daisy went back to school to do a electrical experiment and let Ss draw out the circuit diagram(电路图) and explain how to do the experiment with the words they learnt today.
Step VI. Conclusion
Review the new words.
How does the electricity get into our flat? Easy or hard? So, we have to save energy.

Step II. Brainstorm some ways of producing electricity and finish Part A.
