1. 教材分析

本单元以“媒体”为中心话题,从讨论课本图片中的报刊、杂志、网页可能涉及到的各种内容入手,利用读、听、说、写等各种语言形式逐步向学生展开了一个现代多媒体多方位信息传播的画面。单元中的阅读材料使学生得以了解媒体在世界政治、经济、文化交流和新闻的传播和报道方面所发挥的重要作用;了解现代广告的特点、构思和设计以及它在人们的思想、理念和生活中所产生的作用和影响;了解英国等西方国家主要大众传媒(如报纸)的历史和现状以及所刊载的内容和所传递的文化内涵,并引导学生学会客观、冷静、有分析、有取舍的接受大众传媒信息。单元中的听力材料则侧重使学生通过听广播节目、评论、讨论等了解当前社会上的“名人现象”和应运而生的“狗仔队”现状,并对此发表自己的观点,使他们对某些社会现象的态度和认识逐步成熟起来。本单元的口语和写作练习内容可自动更新,语言应用时效性强,在紧密结合阅读和听力内容的同时还突出了对所学基础语法(被动语态和动名词)的运用,使语法学习在语言中鲜活起来。整个单元的设计突出了一个主旨:使学生在听说读写用(就目前媒体所关注的焦点发表自己的观点等)的过程中掌握与媒体有关的词汇、语言、习惯用法和媒体传播中常见的语法现象,并使学生在学习中得到教益:媒体承载和传播着人类先进文化思想和科技的进步,同时也夹杂着社会进程中的消极因素,因此对于各种传媒信息,要学会冷静观察,客观分析,去粗取精、去伪存真。
