必修五《Vocabulary in Each Unit》优秀教案
Students :Class 8 in Senior 2, consisting of 29 students (an experimental class of Liberal Art)
Section 1: Analysis of the teaching materials
The Final Examination is drawing near. So the lesson is aimed at helping students to have a revision and organization of words in Module 5. Because it is hard to have a detailed review in just 40 minutes, this lesson introduces five methods to memorize words effectively when all the words’ material used are from Module 5’s vocabulary list. Thus, students are supposed to review Module 5’s words while they have access to learning methods of words.
Section 2: Analysis of students’ ability
Students are from an experimental class of Liberal Art in Senior 2 in Nanhai No.1 Senior High School. There are 29 students in this class, most of whom are girls. Compared with students in ordinary classes, they are more attentive and of higher English level. They have already finished Module 5’ s learning and already have reviewed the whole book by themselves. Therefore, it is assumed that they have known all words in Module 5, some of which may not be memorized deeply.
Section 3: Teaching Objectives
Based on the analysis of the teaching material and students, I have chosen the following items as the teaching objectives of my lesson:
Knowledge:To have a short review of words in Module 5
Skills:To know how to memorize words effectively.
Emotion:To establish a sense of achievement on vocabulary.

Part One
Classification Teach two classifications according to words’ structure and category.
Ss brainstorm what they have learned in Module 5 according to the target word or affix and discuss with their group members and then write down their group’s answers on the whiteboard and then show it to the whole class and review the Chinese meaning together with the whole class respectively.
