Step 1: Warming up
1.Our show about “The lion and the mouse”
T: Today, we have two new friends---David and Lily (Sound Time 两位人物). They are from the UK. They like reading animal stories. Can you show them our animal story---The lion and the mouse?(30`to prepare, and then ask one or two group to show)

2.Questions about “The lion and the mouse”
过渡:T: David and Lily like your performance very much. And they have some questions for you.)
Question1: Who woke the lion up?
Question2: How did the men catch the lion?
Question3: Where were the lion and the mouse?
Question4: What did the lion and the mouse become?
(Ss answer the questions one by one.)
Step 2: Sound Time
Falling intonation
过渡:T: Let’s look at the four questions, do we use rising intonation or falling intonation to read them? (由story time的4个问题过渡到sound time的降调。)
→ falling intonation(学生了解特殊疑问句一般用降调。)
T: These are “Wh-questions”, if the questions begin with where, who, what, how, etc, we call them "Wh-questions".we use a falling intonation to read.
过渡:T: You all did a good job. David and Lily want to go to the library to look for some animal stories. On their way to the library, they see a little boy in front of a sweet shop. David asks Lily some questions. Let’s have a look.

Watch the cartoon about intonation.

Read and practise the chant.
