Teaching procedures:
Step one: Lead-in
Do you like a poem? Look at a poem, try to find out what the poem is about? Then tell me what our topic is today? Yes, it’s about dream.
Ask some students to answer the question:
Do you have a dream about what you want to do and what you want to be?
Look at the pictures, who are they? eagle, hawk, hummingbird, swan, dragonfly, a girl who could talk to the birds.
This passage is about a girl who wants to know her dream, so she wants to get answers from these animals.
Step two: skimming
Task one: Listen to the tape, try to answer the question.
What is the girl’s problem and how did she deal with it?
Task two: Ask some students to tell us the structure of the story.
Part1: ( beginning ) not knowing her dream.
Part2: ( body ) looking for her dream.
Part3: (ending) finding her dream.
Task three: Fill in the blanks.
