Part = 1 \* ROMAN I The analysis of the teaching material (教材分析)
This reading passage is an e-mail from Mary, Li Ming’s new pen pal, who is talking about movies. And this passage is mainly about her views on Chinese movies. She also talks something about typical Western movies. This reading passage plays a very important part in the English teaching of this unit. It can arouse the Ss’ interests to get some knowledge about movies. At the same time, it can train student’s ability to review movies. Above all, it can promote cross-cultural communication. Of course, the students can also receive some moral education.

According to the demands in the outline of senior English teaching and the idea of task-based Language Teaching, I have designed the following teaching steps in order to carry on the synthetic practice of listening, speaking, reading and writing and lay particular emphasis on training the students’ reading ability.

in order to fix the students’ attention on the topic---- movies, in the beginning, I ask them questions:
Q1: Do you love watching a movie?
Q2: What kind of movie do you prefer? Comedy, tragedy, romance, action, or science fiction
