While-task

(30 mins )

1) Guide Ss to list the outline of an argumentation;

2) Help Ss analyze the three basics in introduction;

3) Assist Ss in getting to know how to write an eye-catcher and a strong opinion;

4) Explain the format of conclusion and help Ss work out their own version;

5) Teach how to develop supporting details. Tell the standard structure of an argumentation;

Analyze 3 main points in the introduction;

Figure out how to write an eye-catching beginning and avoid being too narrow or too broad when writing an opinion;

Practice writing a conclusion with 3 parts;

Learn to develop details in a logical way.

1) To give Ss a comprehensive understanding of the basic elements in introduction, body and conclusion;

2) To equip Ss with the ability to write an eye-catcher, tell good opinions from bad ones, and develop supporting details. Post-task

( 8 mins ) Guide Ss to work out a body paragraph. In groups, write a body paragraph. To consolidate by practicing.
