2. Learn to analyze the emotions of each character and try to solve the problems between parents and teenagers.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in
Ask students some questions about their experience of home alone:
Can you imagine what might happen if you were left alone?
Could you do with all the responsibility and keep everything clean and safe?
Play a short video about growing pains and get the students to say something about what they have seen.

Reading strategy: reading a play
Go through the Reading strategy and tell students that a play usually consists of several acts. Each act can have several scenes (make sure students know how to read a play)
Listening to the recording of the play and try to find the answer of the following questions:
Why do the parents get angry?
What really happened to their dog, spot?
What’s the main idea of this play?
