写作（书面表达）是英语教学的重要内容，也是高考的必考要求。近年来高考的书面表达已由日记、书信、记叙文等转型为议论文文体。英语教材（人教版）在高一第二册第一模块的写作部分就安排了议论文写作的教学内容。可见掌握议论文的写作已成为教学、备考的迫切需要。同时较其它文体而言，它对学生运用英语知识和技能表达思想、进行交际的能力提出了更高的要求。
