Step3. Leading in:
1. Play an English song for the students to enjoy.
2. Let the students think about the key rules of how to do Cloze Test better and then in groups, list them on their notebooks.
3. Get the students to read a passage for analysis and discussion, and think about “What’s the topic of this passage?”
Step4. Check the students’ understanding:
Check the students’ understanding to make sure they’re right, and avoid misunderstanding.
Step5. Reading and finding:
1. Let the students fill all the blanks.
2. Tell the students what informative words are and how important they are, then let the students read the whole passage quickly and try to underline the informative words from the passage.
Step6. Practicing and checking:
1. Practice reading the whole passage in groups, using the oral Cloze strategy.
2. Copy those informative words on their notebooks.
3. Ask the students to swap their notebooks with their partners and check the answers.
Step7. Discussing in pairs:
1. How did you get the right answers?
2. How did you get the wrong answers?
3. Which is the more suitable answers according to the context? Why?
Step8. Practicing:
Invite the students to do further exercises, then check the answers and discuss in groups.
Step9. Reflection and summary:
Lead the students to reflect and summarize this class.
