在过去的一年,学生们在考试和日常训练中已经接触到一些阅读“七选五”。因此,在讲评时,要落实2017年英语新《考试说明》所提出的“阅读篇章的作者会使用各种衔接手段使行文连贯。如果希望准确、深刻地理解文章,必须把握住全篇的基本结构,理清上下文的衔接关系”这一新增要点,着重强调“明确体裁,理清结构;上下求索,瞻前顾后;确定答案,入文复查”的训练和讲评方式。在学生对如何解题的步骤有一定的基础上,有意识地抓结构、在原文中寻找关键词以及进行选项信息匹配。同时,在对学生的错题进行长期分析后,发现他们在“七选五”中的难点是:如何排除干扰项,对选项中词汇复现、代词作用和判断逻辑关系的精准度等方面比较薄弱,因此造成失分。
◆教学目标
1. 学生讨论在阅读“七选五”方面的难点及其应对之方法;
2. 帮助、引导学生通过词汇和逻辑衔接突破难点——“如何排除干扰项”, 提高得分率。
◆能力目标
学生通过讨论能明确自己在做题时的弱点,并能提出些解决方法;
通过例题和练习能熟练掌握词汇和逻辑衔接的技巧;
能运用这两个技巧避免失分。
◆教学难点
本堂课的教学难点有:
1. 如何帮助学生熟练掌握“七选五排除干扰项”的方式;
2. 如何帮助基础较差的学生将课堂所学在实战中强化。
◆Teaching procedures
Teaching Procedures Teacher’s Activities Students’ Activities Explanation Step 1 Group Discussion 1. What are your difficulties when you are dealing with the Passage Completion?
2. What are your ways to get rid of these difficulties? 1. The students find out their difficulties when they are doing the Passage Completion and offer some practical suggestions to solve the problems after the discussion.
2. Group leaders will collect all the useful information and get ready to present it. The students will realize what their problems are and try to figure out some solutions. (6M) Step 2
Excluding the confusing choices – two techniques 1. The teacher will focus on the pronoun, synonym/near-synonym and hyponymy to help exclude the confusing choices. (the first technique)
2. Then the teacher will focus on some common logic relations such as cause and effect, example illustration, adversative relations and so on, explaining them as well as guiding the students to exclude the confusing choices. (the second technique) Listen to the teacher’s explanation carefully.
Finish the related exercises. The students should bear in mind the two techniques to exclude the confusing choices and apply them to solving the problems in exercises.

The application of the two techniques Ask the students to finish the Passage Completion based on what they learned in the class and then explain how they choose the right answer. Finish the Passage Completion and explain how they choose the right answer in front of the whole class. The students shall use their previous knowledge as well as the newly-learnt techniques to find out the correct answers. (7M) Step 4
Homework Help the students to review what has been learned and finish more exercises. The students finish the tasks based on what they have learned in class. The students will review what they have learned today.(2M)
