Step 1 Formal and informal English
1.Show students some formal and informal English .
English is widely used nowadays. And it can also be divided into formal and informal English. Ask students to judge which expression is better and which is informal.
1). (To a professor you first meet)
□--- Hi, Bob. Fancy meeting you here.
□--- Good morning, Mr. Mosley.
How are you?
2). (To a close friend)
□ --- Mr. Wells, would you be kind enough to pass me the salt?
□ --- Could you possibly pass me the salt?

2.Task: Read the form on page 26.
