Learn to follow the structure of each passage.
Group work: Choose an animal and write a passage about it then produce a TV show.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Introduction
Enjoy some pictures of sharks and a video of shark attacks.
Step 2. Read and understand
Read after the tape and find some information of sharks.
Discussion about sharks.
Read passage two and answer some questions about pigeons.
Summarize the main ideas of paras5 and 6.
Step 3. Language points
Learn some important words and phrases.
Step 4.Topic
Do you know any other animals that have unusual senses?
Step 5 Homework
Produce a presentation about how an animal uses its senses.
You can talk about dogs, dolphins, fish, snakes, eagles or any other animals that have unusual senses. Learn the ways of describing an animal from the two passages you have learned in this lesson and use as many English words and phrases and grammar that you have learned in this unit as possible.
