本节课是以听说读写为手段的Task课型,旨在培养学生听说读写的基本技能,同时,培养学生的跨文化意识以及跨文化交际能力。先复习Reading—Cultural Differences,了解到不同文化的的差异,Task作为本话题的延伸,与Reading起到相辅相成的作用。次之,让学生通过听一篇文章,进一步了解文化差异,期间指导学生掌握听力技巧—预览课文(阅读),了解主题,关注任务,提前预测。然后听材料,再让学生根据听到的内容进行填空,抓住文化差异的关键信息,思考期间的出现的不平常事件——文化冲突;自然过渡到探究原因,进入阅读环节P43Toboo or not toboo—that is a questio! 疑惑豁然开朗; 再听一个小对话,更多的文化差异补充。最后写一篇因为文化差异造成的误解,写一封致歉信,重视致歉信的写作要求及格式。

Teaching Aims:

1. Teach students how to complete a text by listening to Improve the students’ ability of listening.

2. Read to Improve the students’ ability of reading.

3. Cultivate the Ss’ability by wrting

4. Raise the Ss’awareness of cultural differences and improve their competence of crossing-cultural communication.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Lead-in

1.Review the examples of cultural differences in the reading

2.Showing foreign visitors around

1) Read the diary entry.

Find out the subject of the text and guess the missing words.

2) Listen to the conversation between two students and complete the diary entry.

3) Key sentences of several unusual incidents

Step2 1. Reading an article about taboo

2. Circle the taboos that help explain some of the unusual incidents in Part A.

Step3. listening to more about cultural habits

Step 4 . Writing a letter of apology

Step 5. Homework

1. Review what we have learned and pay attenntion to new words and useful expressions

2.Polish up the writing
