Step1: Lead-in
First, talk about customs and culture habits and taboos of Chinese Spring Festival.
And if we break the taboos, what will happen? Now, a student wants to tell us about her experience, let’s welcome her.
Q: What can we do to make up for it?
Second, ask students to list the words which can be used to apologize to others?
Step2: Learn the vocabulary
Ask the students to read the vocabulary, and help the students to understand the words.
Step 3: Learn the structure of the letter
1. If I want to write this kind of letter, can you tell me what I can mention in my letter? It can be divided into 3parts.
2. Let’s read a sample and find out what will be mentioned in it.
3. First, talk about your purpose of writing this letter.
Second, explain why you make such kind of misunderstanding.
Third, say sorry again and show your hope
Step4: Learn some useful sentences about writing a letter of apology
1. Read the sample again and find out the sentences we can use.
2. Then show students more sentence patterns.
3. Finish the translations work
