【教学重点】
1. Basic grammar points of subjunctive mood;
2. Application of the subjunctive mood in unreal conditionals.
【教学难点】
1. To figure out the different usages of Subjunctive Mood in different situations.
2. To create different contexts, especially those related to the students so that they can master the grammar points in an easy and natural way.
【教学过程】
Step 1.A free talk and lead-in
1)Watch a video.
2)Have a discussion with your desk-mate about the video.
Step 2. A review of the form of unreal conditionals
1) Show the pictures on the screen for students to describe.
2) Ask the students to voice their viewpoints
3) Present a review of unreal conditionals with “if”
Step3. A game--Describing the situations and competing
1) Show students different situations, and ask them to describe the situations with the correct usages of Subjunctive Mood.
2) Help the students learn to conclude other ways to talk about unreal situations such as implied conditionals
Step 4. A short summary
Step 5. Consolidation
1) Practice and feedback in a competition.
2) Group work
Have a discussion about the topic presented and finish a short essay with the relevant topic.
