Step 1 Greeting

Step 2 Lead-in and General Introduction

Present some classic lines in movies and ask students to read and translate them into chinese.Then introduce the teaching aids of this class.

Ask students to name more negative words and negative statements.

The negative words include not, no, neither, never, hardly, seldom, too…to, nothing but, anything but, hardly…when, by no means, at no time, ……

Step 3 Task-based learning

1.Ask students to form groups of four and ask them to discuss and help each other to finish all the tasks as required and summarize the rules of negative statements by looking at the examples.

Task1: 1.Correction

2.Try to summarize the first rule

Task2: 1.Complete sentences

2.Try to summarize the second rule about negative inversion

Task 3 1. Ask the students to compare the three sentences.

2.Try to summarize the third rule about complete negation and partial negation.

Task4 1.Give some examples with some positive forms for negative meanings.
