The Dreamer是一篇结构清晰的夹叙夹议类文章,文章主要讲述了“我”的梦想生根发芽的故事。从九岁时成为小小销售员售卖贺卡,到十二岁时父亲带“我”去听了Zig Ziegler的演讲,“我”立志也要成为一名励志演说家。实现梦想的路途上有舍弃、有障碍,但最终,“我”的梦想成真。针对文章特点及学生情况,本节课在导入时由TFBOYS谈论梦想来引出“dream”这一话题,而后循序渐进地引导学生分析文章结构、捕获文章信息,并在其中添加多个教学活动,激发学生兴趣,引导学生使用一定的阅读技能。最后,通过对“我”的梦想树的描绘及学生对自己梦想树的描叙,引发学生对如何实现梦想这一问题的思考。
教学目标
At the end of the class, students should be able to:
train the abilities of analyzing the structure and finding required information in the passage;
use some reading skills in practice;
realize the importance of being a doer apart from being a dreamer

Step 1 Lead-in (5 mins)
By showing students the video in which TFBOYS talk about their dreams, students will be invited to share their dreams.
