A: Dick is so crazy about playing basketball.

B: Yes. Time permitting, he plays basketball nearly every day.

III. Finding the rule

1) Her eyes filled with tears, she didn’t notice his coming.

结构1： 名词（短语）+过去分词 表示被动关系，相当于As her eyes were filled with tears, …

2)So many people being absent, the meeting had to be put off.

结构2： 名词（短语）+现在分词 表示主动关系，相当于Because so many people were absent,…

3) ① He lay in bed with the bedroom door shut. with +n. +p.p.

② A little boy with a tooth missing ran into the house. with +n. +doing

③ With him taken care of, we felt quite relieved. with +n. +p.p.

结构3： “with ＋ 宾语 ＋ 宾语补足语”。

宾语由代词、名词、名词词组充当，宾补可由分词、不定式、形容词、副词、介词短语、名词等充当。
