Step 1. Warm-up

Listen to a song (Traffic lights) and answer questions

Q1: What is the song about?

Q2:What does “Red” mean?/ What does “green” mean?/ What does “yellow” mean?

2.Guessing game: “What is it?”

Ss guess some words and phrases according to the tips.

Step 2 Learning aims

Step 3 Sound time

T: Booby and Tina want to cross the road and make a phone call. Just then, a policemen comes here. Can you imagine what will he say?

S1: Stop! S2:You must wait for the green man!

S3: You mustn’t cross the road now. ...

T: Now, listen carefully. What does the policeman say?

(播放sound time)

T:Can you find the difference?

S: 有重音。

T:Yes,you are right. Read after me: stress, stress, stress

T: Now, you can work in pairs and read these sentences with stress.

(40 second later)

T asks some students to show the sound time.

T lets Ss listen again and ask them to read the sound time together.
