Ⅵ. Teaching procedures

Step 1. Presentation(8分钟)

1. Listen to an English song Old Mc.Donald Had a Farm to warm up and lead to the new lesson.

2. Learn the new words, by showing the pictures on the PPT, write the new words on the blackboard and learn together.

3. Lead to 1a, show some pictures about the countryside and the city, and then compare them. Then mark “bluer, greener, clearer, fresher” with colored chalk and let students observe them to get an initial perception of comparative degrees of adjectivies.

4. Listen to 1a, and finish 1b.

Step 2. Consolidation（10分钟)

1. Listen to 1a again and then read together.

2. Underline the sentences with comparative degrees in 1a

3. Listen again and finish 1c. and lead the Ss to observe the words carefully and try to find out the rules.

4. Observe the words that is filled in 1c and study the rules carefully and try to finish 2b.

5. Explain the rules of comparative and superlative degrees of adjectives.

6. The teacher show some objects to the Ss and give some examples to the Ss to explain the usage of comparative and superlative degrees of adjectives.

eg: Ruler A is long.

Ruler B is longer than Ruler A.

Ruler C is longer than Ruler B.

Ruler C is the longest of all.

Step 3. Practice（15分钟)

1. Work in pairs. Ask the SS to describe the things around them by using the comparative and superlative degrees of adjectives.
