Reviewing a film

教学目标

By the end of this section, students will be able to:

1. exchange ideas about the film they like to write about;

2. compose a film review.

步 骤 教学活动 设计意图 互动时间&模式 Revision Step 1 The teacher asks students to share the film reviews they have read for homework and asks them to tell whether they will see the film recommended and why. 通过检查家庭作业,让学生交流自己读到的影评,同时复习有关影评的文体知识。 8’

Class work

Step 2 Review the structure and language features of film reviews. Speaking Step 3 The teacher has students discuss in pairs what film they want to review and take notes of the information and expressions they might use for further writing. 组织学生就自己要评论的电影展开讨论,同时记录重要的信息和语言,用于稍后的写作。 15’

Pair work Writing Step 4 The teacher has students finish the film review individually. They can refer to Planning your writing in Part D to guide their writing in terms of text type, structure and language. 学生独立完成一篇影评后,与同伴交换,互批互改,完善润色。最后开展gallery walk活动,让学生分享、展示各自的影评。最后让学生口头表述决定要看哪部电影并说明原因。

Students put up their writings on the wall and walk around the classroom to read others’ film reviews. After that, students are encouraged to express their decisions on which film they would love to watch. Homework
