By the end of this section, students will be able to:

1. understand the meaning of verb-ed forms as attributives, adverbials and object complements;

2. summarize the grammatical rules of verb-ed forms as attributives, adverbials and object complements;

3. use verb-ed forms, verb-ing forms and to-infinitives to organize a paragraph based on the notes given.

2. To write a paragraph by using non-finite verbs.

三、教学过程

步 骤 教学活动 设计意图 互动时间/模式 Lead-in Step 1 The teacher asks students about their knowledge of some world-changing discoveries and inventions and lets students talk about these discoveries and their influence on their life.

Individual Work

Class Work Exploring the rules Step 2 The teacher guides students to read five sentences. Students pay attention to the underlined parts and try to find what they have in common.

Answer: They are all verb-ed forms.

The teacher leads students to go over the grammar notes on Pages 100–101, and then match each of the underlined part with the function.
