Step 1 . Lead-in

A . Free talk

T : What do you want to do if you have free time ?

S: I want to ...

T: Do you like holidays?

S: Yes ./ Of course . / ...

T : You always look forward to the holidays .

B . A guessing game :

T: Let’s have a guessing game . It’s in July and August . It’s very hot. You don’t have to go to school . You can do many things . What is the answer to the riddle ?

S : It’s summer holiday.

T: Do you like summer holiday ? Why ?

How is summer holiday ?

S : It’s happy / relaxing / free ...

Show some adjectives to the classmates .

(happy , long , free , relaxing , exciting ... )

T: I will show you a rhyme , please read it quietly and fill in it with these adjectives .

Read the rhyme for two or three times .

Step 2 Revision

Have a talk with students by using these drills :

What will you do for the summer holiday ? I will ...

Will you ... ? Yes , I will . / No , I won’t .

T : You can do a lot of things for the summer holiday ? Will you go on a travelling ?

S : Yes , I will .

T: We all like travelling . What cities have you been before ?

Watch a video about the interesting cities in different countries .
