T: Today I’m your new English teacher. Do you know me?
If you don’t know your new teacher well, what will you do?

Step 2 Know a new place
T: It is spring now. Summer is coming soon. We are waiting for a long long holiday-the summer holiday.
What will you do on summer holiday? Where will you go?
S1: I will go to ....
T: Sounds good. I have a big plan. Do you want to know?
My plan is touching the world.（出示课题）
T(show a map of the world) Look! This is a map of the world. Here is China. I will go to this city. Where will Mr Wang go? Can you see?
Don’t worry. I’ll give you some hints.
It’s a big city.
It’s in a big country.
It’s rich and modern.
People speak English.
Sometimes people call it Big Apple.
You will see Statue of Liberty there.
T: Yes. It’s New York city. This summer I will go there. Do you know a lot about New York?

Step 3. Ask for a plan
T: Thanks for your suggestions. So I surfed the Internet,bought some books from the bookshop. And then, I got a lot of information about New York.
