Be able to talk about one’s feelings in English.

Train Ss’ ability of listening , speaking , reading , writing and cooperation.

Teaching difficulties:

Linking V+ adj

Be able to talk about one’s feelings.

Teaching procedure :

Step 1 . Warm up

(Show a picture of school begins)

Ask Ss’ two questions : a .How was your holiday ?Were you happy ?

b. What’s your feeling now when you’re back to school again? Were you happy , excited , sad or any other feelings ?

Step 2 . Presentation

Learn the new words . Let Ss’ read the words by themselves , then read them after me , then practice them .

Listen to the tape of 1a . First , close books , listen to it and try to get the main idea , and finish 1b .Then ,listen to it again , this time let Ss read after the tape , pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation . Let Ss tell us the main idea of the text and the answer of 1b .

Give Ss 5 minutes to read the text by themselves , then let Ss act the dialog out according to the key points of 1a .

Key points : a . How are you doing ?

b . You look excited .

c . invite …to …

d . one of …

e . spend…

f . Sounds great .

g . prepare …for..

h . say thanks to …

I . He felt disappointed because he was not able to buy a ticket to The Sound of Music

Let Ss read the key points together and let Ss master these key points, they should be able to use them in different situations .

Step 3 . Consolidation

1 . Let the Ss read 1c .

2 . Show the words of feelings : angry ,happy ,excited , sad ,worried, afraid , upset ,nervous ...

3 . Let Ss make similar dialogs with these feelings after the example .

4 . Analyse the word : feel . Lead to the Linking Verb + adj . feel意思是感觉起来,系动词,后面跟形容词构成系表结构。与此类此的系动词还有:sound , look , taste , smell ,be , become , turn , get , go 等。

5 . Show some examples , let Ss find out something important by themselves .(系动词有人称,数,时态的变化。)
