(5 minutes)1. To make the Ss have a deeper impression about some names of the electrical appliances by scanning the photos.

2. To practice the listening skill and lead in the next listening1. Pre-listening: Lead the Ss to scan the photos and talk about the electrical appliances in Benny’s house.

2. While-listening: Play the recording. Ask Ss to circle On or Off in the textbook (P. 76). 1. Look at the photos and speak out the name of the electrical appliances

2. Listen to the recording and finish the listening exercise in the textbook.Listening (Ⅱ)

(15 minutes) To practice the listening skills of prediction and getting details.

To learn some useful expressions of safety tips. Get ready for the speaking later.

To be familiar with the safety tips in the article by reading and talking.1. Pre-listening: talk about some tips for listening and lead the students to predict the words they will write down.

2. While-listening:

Play the recording and ask Ss to fill in the spidergram of electricity safety tips.

Check the answer and talk about some useful words in it.

3. Post-listening:

Lead Ss to follow the tape to read the article and answer the questions.

Lead Ss to work in pairs and make a dialogue to talk about the tips in the article. 1.Pre-listening: read the spidergram and predict the words they will write.

2.While-listening:

(1)Listen to the recording and fill in the spider gram.

(2) Share the answer with the whole class.

3. Post-listening:

(1) Follow the tape to read the article and learn some useful expressions to talk about safety tips.

(2) Work in pairs to make a dialogue and talk about the tips in the article. Speaking

(15 minutes) 1. To help Ss learn more tips about electricity safety in their daily lives.

2. To practice the speaking sills by making some dialogues and reports.

3. To cultivate Ss’ cooperative spirits and increase their confidence of speaking English.1. Show some pictures about some other electricity safety tips and talk about some key words with Ss. Lead Ss to work in pairs and make a dialogue to talk more about safety tips.

2. Lead Ss to discuss in a group and make a report about electricity safety tips with the help of the spidergram. Encourage each group member to say at least one sentence.

3. Invite some groups to show their report.1. Go through the pictures with the teacher’s help. Work in pairs to talk about some tips in the picture.

2. Discuss some electricity safety tips in a group. Get every group member ready to say at least one sentence.
