1. Warming up1.1 Greetings.
T: I come from Xi’an. It’s an old city. There are many old building in it. Such as the Bell Tower, the City wall. It’s called Changan in ancient China.
1.2 Guessing game:
T: Look at the line. It’s about Xi’an. What does it look like ? The teacher asks and the students try to say what it is. Lead out Silk Road.
1.3Watch the video’ The changes of the market’
Year after year,the market has changed a lot. It becomes more and more convenient. 问候与介绍,拉近师生距离。
通过猜测引出Silk Road,调动学生的积极性,使其进入学习状态。
通过观看视频,简单了解市场古今变化,引出本节课的主题supermarket.
2. Presentation2.1Show some supermarkets around us. Ask the students: “Do you know any supermarkets? What are there at the supermarket?” Let the students think and answer.
引导学生使用They are…/ There are … /We can …等句型来描述身边的超市。
2.2Watch the video of the text. Ask the students to use one word to describe the supermarket in England.
Then ask students to find out the topic sentence in this text. Help the students to understand the following sentences are all around the topic sentence.
2.3 The supermarket is very big. Why does Amy say so ? Ask the students to read the text by themselves and then finish the thinking map. Ask the students to work in groups. Try to find out How does Amy describe the supermarket in different aspects?
2.4 Show time.
What do they sell ?
Which things from China do they sell?
While their presenting, teacher guide the students to notice the new word, ‘sell, different’.
