【设计意图】初读课文,学生了解中心大意,整体感知课文。Christmas is a very important festival in many countries. 是一个重要句型,因此,教师为学生搭设支架,层次有简易难的练习该句型,并且能够在恰当语境中运用。同时感知中西方重要节日。
3. Repeat and answer
(1)When is Christmas?
(2)What do we do and see on Christmas?
When Ss answer the first question, T gives the scaffolding: It’s on the ___ of the ______. (Ss learn word: December. T helps Ss remember the twelve months together with the game of looking for friends.)
When Ss answer the second question, T shows four pictures of Christmas trees, presents, cards and lights to support them to remember. And T writes main points on the blackboard.
