Step One:Warming up and Revision
【Activity】:Sing
T:look, it’s a hippo. It has a big mouth and two small eyes.
Ss: say the sentences together.
T:The hippo is very big. And today, Lucy comes to Li Yan’ s home. Le’s look and listen, what are they talking about?
【Aim】:to warm students up and review big and small in lesson 31.
Step Two Analysis of the dialogue
【Activity】First: Watch the flash. They are talking about their toy monkey and rabbit.(put the pictures of rabbit and monkey on the blackboard)
Second: Read together after the tape.
【Aim】: Through the two questions, students can get the main idea of the dialogue and can understand the situation better which is good for their later study of the words and sentences.
【Activity】Third: Open the books and read after.
Fourth: Read the first two sentences again and answer:What does the monkey look like? Write the sentence “A rabbit has long ears and a short tail” on the blackboard. Students should learn to read “long” and “short”, and they have to know how to write “long”.
Fifth: Read the last two sentences and answer: What does the rabbit look like ? Write the sentence “ A monkey has a big mouth and a long tail.” This time, ask two students to write “big” and “long” on the blackboard.
Sixth: Read the dialogue again together.
【Aim】Students should look at the book and read to maintain a better understanding of the dialogue, and through reading by looking at the book, students can get to know how to write and use the new word “long” correctly.What’s more, by reading again after the video, students can get a more authentic English pronunciation and intonation.
【Activity】Seven: Role-play Read the dialogue by themselves and divide students into two groups to act the dialogue
【Aim】: Students can feel the text more specifically through their role-play.
Step Three:
【Activity】First: students are asked to finish the papers on their desks to make sure they know how to write “long”, to match the body parts with the right animals and review “big” and “small”. Then read sentences according to the results.

Third: Instruct students to talk about their body parts and divide them into two groups based on the single form and
plural form.
