Some students depend on their parents and friends so much, and they are even not able to take care of their daily lives.

Step II: While-writing

1. Students have a group discussion about what they should do to be independent, then finish a mind map in groups. Have one or two groups show their mind maps by projector and describe their ideas.

2. Show students some tips which can make their ideas fluent. Have students work in pairs to describe their mind maps with the help of the tips.

①Avoid grammatical (语法的) mistakes. (He makes)

②Use proper transitions to make your passage fluent(流畅的)

表示罗列、顺序：first of all, next, then, after that/ first, second, third, fourth…

表示转折关系: but, however

表示因果关系: because, because of, so

③Sentence patterns:

We should (do)…

We had better (do)…

We need to (do)…

It is … for…to do …

3.Have students write a passage on “What should we do to be independent?” with the help of their mind maps and the tips.

Step III: Post- writing

Choose one or two students’’ passage to show in class and help correct their mistakes.

Step IV: Homework

Check and correct the passage “What should we do to be independent?” then re-write it on Writing Book.
