Stage one Leading-in?

Stage two Pre-listening

Step 1. Teach the word “postcard, vacation, receive, explore”

T: Please look at here. What`s this?

Ss: It`s …

T: Yes, It`s a postcard. I received this postcard from my friend, Jessie. She sent it to me when she traveled to Anhui Province during the summer vacation. She told me she explored many places in Anhui, and had a great time there. It feels really to receive the greeting from good friends.

Teach the Ss new words. Read loud together.

Step 2. Let the students think about what we should do before our friends comes here. Have a group discussion and make a list of suggestions.

Step 3. Make the students predict the content about what they were talking.

Look at 1b, read the phrases together, then listen and finish it.

Stage three While-listening

Step 1. Play 1a, the student?and his/her partner listen carefully, and finish 1b together. Check the answer.

Step 2. Listen the second time, and answer the three questions

Who is Darren?

What was Darren doing while Michael was enjoying his trip?

Does Kangkang help Michael make a plan for Darren’s visit?

Check the answer.

Step 3. Let the Ss read 1a quickly and number the sentences in 1c. Check the answer.

Step 4. Read after the recording of 1a. Let student read the text by themselves, three students make one group who practice the dialogue.

Step 5 . Ask three groups to act the dialogue out.
