一: The simple past tense
A. 一般过去时：
表示过去发生的动作( V ) 或过去的状态( Be ). ．
1. this morning 今天上午 yesterday 昨天 the day before yesterday 前天 yesterday morning 昨天上午 yesterday afternoon 昨天下午 yesterday evening 昨天晚上 .
B. 一般过去时常和表示过去的时间短语连用
2. last night 昨天夜里 last week 上个星期 last Monday 上个星期一 last Saturday 上个星期六 last Sunday 上个星期天 last month 上个月 last term 上学期 last year 去年 last time 上次
3. a moment ago 一会儿之前，刚才 two days ago 两天前 a week ago 一周前 ten years ago 十年前 long long ago 很久很久以前
4. just now 刚才 = a short time ago 很短时间以前 =a moment ago 一会儿以前
5. 具体过去的日期: in 1949 在1949年 in 2000 在2000年 on October 1st, 2008 在2008年10月1日
6. 已故的人所做的事： Edison 爱迪生 // Lu Xun 鲁迅
7. after two days 两天以后 after a month 一个月以后
9. at the age of five 在5岁时
8. two years later 两年以后 twenty minutes later 二十分钟以后
10. when he was five 当他5岁时 when he was a boy 当他是孩子时 when he was young. 当他年轻时
11. the following morning = the next morning 第二天早晨 the following day = the next day 第二天
12. and 前后时态一致性 : He put…..and _______ ( go )…….

C. 一般过去时 动词的表达形式 : 表示过去的动作 ( V ): 1. 规则 动词, + ed ； P.106 2. 不规则动词，见不规则动词表第二栏 P.107 例如：go ? went ; speak ? spoke
表示过去的状态 ( Be ): 1. I / He / she / It / Mary : was ( be ) 2. We / You / They : were ( be )
D. 规则动词的过去式 即：+ ed 的规则：
1、 一般情况下；
2、以e结尾的；
3、辅音字母+y结尾的；
4、元音字母+y结尾的；
5、重读闭音节；
直接+ ed. 例如： work ? worked
