Make a dialogue ensuring that you follow the correct meaning and usage of the colour idiom.
S1: Hi, I need to talk to you.
S2: What’s up?
S1: I hate being in the red. Could you lend me some money, please?
S2: What did you spend your money on?
S1: Well, last month, I used my credit card to buy a pair of Nike shoes. And I need money to pay my credit card tomorrow.
S2: Oh, no! You should use your credit card wisely.
What have you learnt from the colour idioms?
1. Practise using the other five color idioms by making dialogues with your partner;
2. Choose one dialogue and adapt it into a paragraph of about 60 words;
3. Collect some Chinese idioms about colors and compare different color associations in Chinese and English.
