Giacomo Puccini wrote the opera. The final scene was completed by one of his former students, Franco Alfano.
Giacomo Puccini (1858 - 1924) is regarded as one of the great operatic composers of the late 19th and early 20th century. His most famous works are La Boheme, Tosca and Madam Butterfly. His last opera Turandot was left unfinished, as he died before he could complete the final scene.
