Mary Shelley (1797-1891)is the second wife of the famous Romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley.
Because of the first Science fiction(科幻小说) Frankenstein, she is regarded as the mother of Science fiction.

Until the 1970s, Mary Shelley was known mainly for her efforts to publish Percy Shelley's works and for her novel?Frankenstein, which remains widely read and has inspired many film adaptations
Background : Author
Mary traveled around Europe with Percy Shelly and another poet, Lord Byron. One night, Byron announced:“ We will each write a ghost story.” Then Mary began to write Frankenstein.
Frankenstein was published in 1818. But the sad life story told by the monster has often been ignored in film productions of the book.
