1. His original name was Chen Gangsheng（陈港生), which tells his birthplace.
2. When he studied Beijing Opera, he was given a stage name Chen Yuanlou （陈元楼）by his master Yu Zhanyuan.
3. Then in his acting career, he had a stage name Chen Yuanlong（陈元龙）.
4. Later, a film director Luo Wei gave him another stage name Cheng Long（成龙）, which has two aspects of meanings: the first one is to express the director’s wish that Cheng could become famous, just like a dragon- the symbol of China; the second it is hoped that Cheng would follow the example of another well-known Chinese martial star（功夫明星）, Li Xiaolong（李小龙）.
