1.Write the introduction of this person

(e.g. Jane has studied wild animals for many years.She has sunburnt face and arms, and looks slim, but strong.)

(e.g. Jane is a great scientist. )

The 2nd paragraph:

1.Think about a topic sentence about this person.

(what do you admire him/her;describe his/her character using the adj.; what kind of things he/she has achieved; or how you/other people view him/her)

e.g. Jane made great achievements in protecting wild animals.

2.In order to support this topic sentence, list as many points as you can think about him/her.

Topic sentence:Jane made great achievements in protecting wild animals.

Supporting sentence 1:

3.Go over each point.

Ask “Does this support the main idea?”

Cross out(删去) the points that do not.

Topic sentence: Jane made great achievements in protecting wild animals.

Supporting sentence 1:Jane studied chimps in their own environment.

Supporting sentence 2:Jane made the rest of the world understand and respect animals.

Supporting sentence 3:Jane made people know chimps eat meat not fruit or peanut.

4.Think of an example for each point. If you cannot find an example, cross out the point.

Topic sentence: Jane made great achievements in protecting wild animals.

Supporting sentence 1:Jane studied chimps in their own environment.

For example, in order to observe chimps behavior, Jane waited and sat in their sleeping places.
