The aim of this passage is twofold:

Aim 1: to help students understand the problems that women writers had during their careers

Aim 2: to explain the development of the novel in the nineteenth century.

Scan the passage and underline the names of the English Authoresses in the 19th century mentioned in the passage , their representative works and the issue each writer was most concerned with.
