Talk about an impressive competition
My First Campus Marathon
Last week, I successfully ran my first campus marathon, which was a special experience.
One day a month ago, our teacher informed us that our school would hold a campus marathon. On hearing the news, I was excited and signed up for it immediately. In preparation for the race, I trained hard and filled every afternoon with my efforts and sweat, running on the playground.
Then came the big day. The gun sounded, I was off and sped up in the track with all my might. At the beginning, everything went well and I felt great. However, without warning, my legs became weak and my breath turned hard. Then an inner voice ringing in my head, saying “Give it up”. I was about to quit when my classmates Peter and Mike came around me, encouraging me and cheering me up. Their positive words pushed me forward. I determined to finish the race. With all of the strength left in me, I kept running until the very end. Although I was the last to cross the finish line, I was still overjoyed and proud of myself. I made it! With tears of happiness falling down my cheeks, I proudly received high-fives from my cheering classmates. My teacher also congratulated me on my success in finishing the race.
From this experience, I’ve learnt whatever we do, we should face the challenge bravely and try our best to become better persons. I will always treasure this unforgettable experience in my heart.
