Carefully searched the entire house , room by room.
Looked at the furniture and opened every drawer.
Inspected the chairs by using long, thin needles.
Removed the tops from the tables.
Examined the wood on every piece of furniture in the house with a powerful microscope.
Checked the mirrors and beds, the clothing, the rugs and the curtains with the microscope.
Turned over every page and examined the covers of the books and the backs of the books.
Removed every carpet and checked the floor boards under them and the grounds around the house.

I realized, then, that the Minister might have left the letter out in the open, right under everyone’s nose, where no one would search for it. The more I thought about the case, the move convinced I became that the Minister had hidden the letter by not hiding it at all.
