1.定义：过去进行时通常表示在过去某一时刻或某一段时间正在进行的动作，强调在这一过程中所进行的动作或展开的情景。
2.构成：was(were)+现在分词
第一、三人称单数用was+v.ing，其余都用were+v.ing
3.句式：（肯定句、否定句、和一般疑问句）
eg：He was singing this time yesterday?(表时刻）
They were reading a story last light.(表时间段） 注意：was not = wasn't were not = weren't
when既可表示时间点，又可表示时间段；while表示时间段,也表主、从句的动作“同时”进行。
又如：When I got off the bus, I fell down.
