An adverbial clause describes a verb (in the main clause) and says when, why, how, where, etc. something happens. An adverbial clause is introduced by a subordinating conjunction.
Example:
Justin Bieber is my favourite singer
because
he is a successful man.
1. Justin Bieber is my favourite singer because he is a successful man. (原因)
2. When he was twelve, he won his first prize in a singing competition.（时间）
3. His idol(偶像） is Michael Jackson because he thinks Micheal Jackson was very strong and Michael Jackson set a good example for Bieber. （原因）
4. Justin Bieber is a famous singer although he is only 16 years old.（让步）
5. He sings so very well that his songs, such as, “Baby” and “Latin Girl“ are very popular nowadays.（目的）
