主 语
1.?名词用作主语。如：

名词作主语，主要考查主谓一致
1) Dr. Smith, together with his wife and daughters, ______ visit Beijing this summer.
A. is going to B. are going to
C. was going to D. were going to
当主语后面有 as well as, with, along with, together with, except, beside 等时，谓语动词不受这些词或短语的影响，仍与主语保持一致。此题的谓语动词应与 Dr. Smith 保持一致，故排除选项B、D；再根据 this summer 可排除选项C。
2) The number of foreign students attending Chinese universities ______ rising steadily since 1997.
A. is B. are C. has been D. have been
the number of 意为“……的数目”，后接可数名词复数，作主语时，谓语动词用单数，故排除选项B、D；再根据since 1997可排除选项A。a number of 意为“许多；若干”， 后接可数名词复数，作主语时，谓语动词用复数。
