The 1988 Summer Olympics
The 1988 Summer Olympics were an all international multi-sport events celebrated from September 17 to October 2, 1988 in Seoul, South Korea. They were the second summer Olympic Games to be held in Asia and the first since the 1964 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan.
In the Seoul Games, 160 nations were represented by a total of 8391 athletes: 6197 men and 2194 women. 237 events were held. 27221 volunteers helped to prepare the Olympics.
“Hand in Hand” was the theme song of the 1988 Summer Olympics.
This 4:13 minute song was produced by Giovanni Giorgio Moroder (Italian). Its English lyric was composed by Tom Whitlock (American), Korean lyric by Kim Moon-hwan (Korean). It was sung by Koreana (Koreans).

Koreana is a bilingual(双语的) Korean musical group that performs songs in both English and Korean. The group performed at the opening ceremonies of the 1988 Seoul Olympics where they sang its official theme song “Hand in Hand”.
