Friendship on the rocks: please advise!
Pre-reading
1. Do you think there are “friends for life”?
2. Do you have someone who once was your friend but never talks to you any more now? If so, would you mind sharing your experiences?
While reading
1. Read the title and think.
(1) What could “on the rocks” in the title possibly mean? How can you tell that?
(2) Can you predict what will be talked about in the text?
2. Scan the forum exchange and finish A1 on Page 32.
(1) Amy’s friend was out having fun with someone else.
(2) Amy received a horrible surprise.
(3) Save the friendship because eight years is a long time.
(4) Rethink this friendship and if necessary, move on.
While reading
