Step 2 Focusing on main facts

Figure out the structure of the 1st passage by answering some questions:

2. What dose the author mainly want to tell his readers?

3. What dose the author realize in the end?

Structure:

Part one (Para. 1): Introduction

Par two (Para. 2-4): Different attitudes towards friendship

Part three (Para. 5): Conclusion

Appreciate what the author’s attitudes towards friendship are in the 2nd passage;

Friendship means not being alone.

Friendship means having someone I can rely on.

Friendship means being committed to others.
