Teaching procedure:
Step 1 : Leading-in and self-study
Tell them what they have learnt in the last period and with the development of economy all over the world , the environment problems are becoming more and more serious ,especially in developing countries .
Step 2: Fast reading
Let them to go on with the passage to get more information about the topic., then ,ask some questions.
Step 3 : Careful reading
Tell them to read the passage again and pay attention to some detailed information and try to fill in the following table.
Step 4 Discussion
Tell them they have learnt the debate about the economy and the environment. They have learnt much detailed information about the problems caused by the development of economy and some advice on how to solve them. Let them do it pairs.
Step 5 Homework
Tell them in this period they’ve learnt something about the relationship between economy and environment .
