Show Ss two famous literary works and a movie trailer.
Ask Ss whether they think it would be a good idea to clone humans some day.
Step II. Reading
Pre-reading
Analyze the structure of the passage which is made up of a newspaper article and two readers’ letters.
Have Ss study the reading strategy on Page 43 by themselves and figure out how to read articles about science.
Fast-reading
Have Ss read the first and last paragraphs to get the main idea of the article.
Have Ss circle the new words while scanning the body to get the main point of each paragraph.
Detailed-reading
Read para1 loudly to answer the questions.
Read para2 loudly to make an introduction of Dolly..
Read para3-5 loudly. Present and learn the scientific terms. Find different persons’ attitudes towards cloning.
