Teaching aims:
At the end of the class, help students to:
1. Knowledge object: know some commonly used prefixes and suffixes and learn to guess the meanings of unfamiliar words
2. Ability object: solve problems in different text types by using the knowledge of prefixes and suffixes
3. Moral object: enlarge vocabularies and enhance communication skills so as to develop an interest in English learning.
四、Students’ analysis
Most of our students are weak in English, and the basic reason is they have great difficulty in memorizing vocabularies for lack of enthusiasm and skills. The lesson will provide an effective way to learn vocabulary by revealing the constitution of words (prefix-root-suffix). Equipped with this skill, students will master more words and develop an interest in English learning.
